Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Wall.
Michelle, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin? Photography became a passion of mine about five years ago. In the beginning, I photographed a little of everything- from child models to family portraits, trying to figure out where my passion really was. It was in 2019 that I fell in love with Boudoir Photography. Boudoir is so much more than just taking sexy photos of women. It’s an experience that women will cherish and gives them a newfound confidence. I love showing that world that all women are beautiful and worthy of having beautiful photos, not just models. I’ve met so many amazing women throughout this journey-from the woman who survived cancer, to the woman who just went through a nasty divorce, or the woman who just needed a confidence boost. I also photograph many women who just need a gift for their significant other. Everyone has their own reasons for doing boudoir, and I’m thankful to meet each and every one of my clients and to give them this experience.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome? I had just moved to Seattle in late 2019 when I started my boudoir business. Just a few short months later covid happened and everything shut down. That was definitely a setback, but things took off in the summer of 2020. It has been a learning process, as with any business, but I wouldn’t change a thing- except moving to Texas sooner! I relocated here this past April, and I am in love with Texas.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business? We are located in downtown McKinney. My clients get a full luxury experience including professional hair and make-up, complimentary wardrobe styling, full posing and facial expression guidance, professional retouching, and luxury heirloom quality albums to display their beautiful photos. We photograph women of all ages (18+), sizes, and stages of life. I’ve had so many women come to me and tell them that other boudoir photographers do not photograph plus-sized women. Now, I personally know of many who do, but it makes me sad to think that anyone would turn someone away. We are all uniquely beautiful and worthy of having stunning photos of ourselves. I have a private VIP Facebook group where clients can join and get to know me and my business before booking a session. It has turned into an amazing group of women, and anyone can join, even if they never book a session with me. Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc.? I belong to many educational groups for photographers, which have greatly helped me and my business. Contact Info:
